Pen, pencil, and watercolor drawings illustrating the orders of knighthood. 351 drawings, each measuring 44 x 36 cm., all signed "CHS" and captioned in ink. Vol. 1 contains 97 drawings, each depicting a full-length figure in the costume of an order of knighthood, arranged chronologically from A.D. 786 to 1844. Vols. 2-3 contain drawings (131, 123 respectively) of medals and decorations of various orders. Some drawings have brief notes indicating the source on which it is based.
